Google Business Profile and Hotel Center: two products, one listing
Google is the surface where hotels most often own half their listing without realising it. The amenities and hotel details a traveller reads come from a claimed and verified Business Profile. The rates and booking links beside them come from Hotel Center, a different product with different access. Treat Google as one login and one of those two halves ends up unowned.

Direct answer
Edit hotel content in Business Profile: Google states that if you have a verified hotel Business Profile you can edit your services and amenities in the Hotel details section. Manage rates, availability and booking links in Hotel Center, which Google describes as a platform that helps you manage rates, availability, and other data used in ads and free booking links. Verification is the prerequisite for the first, and bulk editing of hotel attributes by spreadsheet is explicitly unsupported.
Where to sign in
Google's instruction for editing amenities is conditional on a verified hotel Business Profile, so claiming and verifying the profile is the prerequisite rather than an afterthought. Hotel Center is a separate product reached at hotelcenter.google.com with its own access, which is why content and rate ownership so often sit with different people at the same hotel.
Where each field lives
A path marked documented is quoted from the platform's own help article and links to it. Where the platform publishes nothing, the row says so instead of guessing a menu name.

Google Business Profile Help: Hotel amenitiesHow long a change takes to appear
Only one channel in this directory publishes a number. Where a platform states nothing, this page says nothing rather than repeating a figure from a blog.
After you save in Hotel details
No published figureGoogle publishes no stated time for an edited attribute to appear on the public listing. Record the date you saved and the date you first saw the change rather than working to an assumed window.
Google Business Profile Help: Manage your hotel's detailsWhy an amenity can persist or return
Platform-statedGoogle describes collecting amenity information from a variety of sources, so a value you did not enter can appear, and correcting the profile is not always the whole fix. Google's published route for an inaccurate amenity is to contact them.
Google Business Profile Help: Hotel amenitiesWhy an update doesn't show
In order of how often each one turns out to be the cause, starting with the ones this platform's own documentation explains.
You cannot find the Hotel details section
Google's instruction is conditional on a verified hotel Business Profile. If the section is missing, treat verification as the task rather than hunting for the field.
Google Business Profile Help: Manage your hotel's detailsYou tried to fix amenities with a spreadsheet
Google states hotel attributes cannot be updated through the spreadsheet upload, and that the API and dashboard are the routes. A bulk file that appeared to upload cleanly will not have changed them.
Google Business Profile Help: Manage your hotel's detailsAn amenity is showing that you never entered
Google describes sourcing amenity information from a variety of sources. Its published route for an inaccurate hotel amenity is to contact Google, so record the wrong value with the date and report it rather than only editing the profile.
Google Business Profile Help: Hotel amenitiesThe rates are wrong but the amenities are right
Those are different products. Rates, availability and booking-link data are managed in Hotel Center, so a rate problem is not fixed anywhere in Business Profile.
Google Hotel Center Help: About the Hotel Center platformNobody at the hotel owns the other half
Check who holds access to each product. A hotel with a verified Business Profile and no Hotel Center owner, or the reverse, has an unowned surface rather than a broken one.
Verify the change
- Confirm the Business Profile is claimed and verified before trying to edit amenities.
- Edit in Hotel details, then record the date you saved.
- Read the public Google listing signed out and note the date the change appeared.
- Check the highlights shown beside the amenities, not only the amenity list.
- Check rates and booking links separately, in Hotel Center.
- Report an amenity you did not set rather than only overwriting it.
Still to confirm
We could not verify these from public documentation
- How long an edited attribute takes to appear publicly. Google publishes no stated time.
- Which of its various sources Google used for any particular amenity on your listing.
- Whether hotel highlights can be influenced other than through the amenities themselves.
Rather than publish a plausible menu name, we list the gap. If you confirm one of these inside your own portal, tell us what you found and we will add it with the date.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I edit hotel amenities on Google?
In Business Profile. Google states that if you have a verified hotel Business Profile you can edit your services and amenities in the Hotel details section, and its steps are to select Hotel details, search for the attribute, fill in the information and select Save. Verification is a prerequisite, not an optional extra.
Can I update hotel attributes in bulk with a spreadsheet?
No. Google states that you can't update hotel attributes through the spreadsheet upload, and that to update hotel attributes you use the API and dashboard. A bulk file that uploaded without error will not have changed your hotel attributes.
Why does Google show an amenity I never entered?
Google describes collecting amenity information from a variety of sources to help travellers make lodging decisions, so a value can appear that you did not set. Its published route for an inaccurate hotel amenity is to contact Google, so record the value and the date and report it rather than assuming an edit will hold.
Is Hotel Center the same as Business Profile?
No, and conflating them is the most common Google mistake we see. Google describes Hotel Center as a platform that helps you manage rates, availability, and other data used in ads and free booking links. Listing content such as amenities and hotel details lives in Business Profile instead.
How long does a Google amenity change take to appear?
Google publishes no stated time, so there is no window to work to. Record the date you saved the change and the date you first saw it on the public listing; two dated observations are what turn a suspicion that publishing is slow into evidence you can act on.
