What you give us

To run a scan, you enter a hotel name or a link to the property. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message, such as your email address.

• No account, sign-up, or login is required to use the scanner.
• We do not ask for or process payment information.

How a scan uses that information

When you run a scan, the hotel name or link is used to find and read the property's public listings on supported travel sites and to compare the factual details on them.

Your scan results are shown in your browser and cached there so a refresh does not lose them. By default they are not stored on our servers and are not tied to an account. To run the scan, the information is processed by third-party services that fetch and analyse the public listings on our behalf; those providers handle data under their own terms.

Preventing abuse of the scanner

The scanner calls paid third-party services on every run, so we limit how many scans one connection can start in an hour and in a day. Without that limit anyone could run the service's costs up without using the product.

To count those requests we store a one-way keyed fingerprint of your IP address, never the address itself, alongside a counter and the time window it belongs to. The fingerprint is produced with a secret we hold on the server, so it cannot be reversed or matched against an address list, and it is not linked to your scans, your results, or anything else on the site.

These counters are deleted once their time window has passed. They are a security control, not analytics, and are not used to build any profile of you.

Shareable report links

Creating a shareable link is the only action that copies a scan to our servers, and it never happens automatically. You are shown what will be stored and have to confirm it first.

When you confirm, we store that report — the hotel name you entered, the listing URLs that were scanned, and the values extracted from them — against a random link token. We do not store your IP address or a device identifier alongside it.

Anyone holding the link can read the report; there is no password on it. Shared reports are marked noindex and disallowed in our robots file, so they are not intended to appear in search results, though an unlisted URL is not a secret and should be sent only to people you mean to share it with.

A shared report is deleted automatically 30 days after it is created. You can delete it sooner from the report page on the device that created the link, which removes it for everyone immediately.

If you never create a link, nothing from your scan reaches our servers beyond what is needed to run it.

Analytics and cookies

We use analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example, which pages are visited and whether scans complete. This helps us improve the product. Analytics may set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser.

You can limit or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can use browser or device controls to opt out of analytics tracking.

Information we don't collect

We keep this deliberately narrow. We do not build user profiles, we do not sell personal information, and we do not require personal details to use the core scanner.
